The days of yelling at the audience from a tv screen are done. We are living in a new era. Authentic storytelling is the most powerful form of advertising to attract and retain clients, and we have the evidence to prove it.
During the last three years, DMJ Studios produced an extensive portfolio of videos for The Rothenberg Law Firm, one of the nation’s leading personal injury law firms. Unlike past commercials featuring lawyers speaking directly to the camera to sell their services, the new spots are centered on heartfelt interviews. When the marketing team at Rothenberg tested these documentary-style pieces, they worked.
“How consumers interact with advertising has changed,” said Rothenberg Marketing Executive Dennis Zhao. “We showed the old school spot to 200 people, and 55% of them said they were less likely to use the law firm… That means that every dollar they spent, they’re alienating more than half the audience.”
Conversely, after viewing the documentary-style video based on interviews with real people, 58% said they were more likely to engage with the law firm.
“You want to be human. You want to lead with your values, and you want to be authentic and genuine,” said Zhao.
